Some of us spend all of our free time working to make our homes great. From decorating and cleaning, to painting and repairs – a homeowner’s work is never done. And while some would prefer to do other things, the simple fact is the more you do now, the less you’ll need to do when it comes time to sell.
Of course, letting things go could also result in more work than you bargained for. Take paint for example. In some applications, paint is your first defense. A fresh coat of paint seals wood and prevents water damage in exposed areas. So if the trim around the garage door is starting to peel, chip and shows signs of wear, it’s time to grab the paintbrush and get to work. In the long run, you’ll prevent having to remove and replace the wood, then caulk the margins, prime and paint – which can be time consuming and costly.
So take a closer look around. Or better yet, give me a call. I’d be happy to swing by, take a peek and let you know what every buyer (and inspector) will see when you put your house on the market.
